If you run a charity or 'good works' organisation on St. Helena there are at least two good reasons to promote your work on the Internet:

• Saints overseas, and people who have a special interest in St. Helena, may not know about what you do.  By advertising your work and contact details on the Internet they may be encouraged to contribute, either financially or by providing other forms of assistance.

• There may be other organisations worldwide that do similar things to you, and by association they may be able to help your work.

Reaching people across the world via the Internet can help your organisation achieve its aims.

But promoting your work on the Internet costs money and requires technical expertise.  Can you afford to buy a domain name; pay for web hosting and write HTML pages?  Do you even know what all of those things are?  Now you don't need to.

SO WHAT IS THE OFFER?

If you want a simple website for your community organisation, we may be able to build it for you FREE.

Naturally our time is limited so:

• The site must be relatively simple to construct, with only a few pages and no complex formatting or layouts.

• We cannot promise to build the site to any particular timetable – our paying clients must take precedence.

• We can make a small number of updates but normally no more than one per month.

• Your site must not run contrary to our business or personal values or ethics. Neither must it: advocate an activity that is illegal or which Burgh House Limited considers immoral or improper; have content which is derogatory, libellous or malicious, against any person or organisation; promote a commercial entity, other than where a charitable organisation trades for theenrichment of its own funds.

• We will introduce to your site a line containing the words:

This site was created and is maintained for us FREE by Burgh House Software (part of Burgh House Limited) as a community support project.

• We reserve the right to cease maintaining the site at any time in the future, but undertake to give you as much notice as possible if we need to do this.
